Cold pressed Egyptian Black Seed oil comes from the black seeds found in the nigella sativa flowering plant, found in Mediterranean regions across the world. Nigella sativa is planted in the winter, flowers in the spring and is harvested in the summer for its jet-black seeds. These seeds are revered across the world for their healing properties and are known by numerous names, including black cumin. Black seed oil is derived from the black seeds of the Nigella Sativa plant, which are ground down and pressed to release their oil. This oil is then bottled or formed into capsules for use.

Nutrients in Black Seed Oil
Black seed oil is incredibly rich in nutrients, containing over 100 valuable nutrients. The seeds are comprised of around 21% protein, 38% carbohydrates and 35% plant oils. The active ingredients in black seed oil are nigellone, thymoquinone and fixed oils. Other vitamins and nutrients found in black seed oil include essential fatty acids linoleic acid and oleic acid calcium potassium vitamin A, B, B2 and Cironzincseleniumniacin.
The dosage of Black Seed Oil
Cold Pressed Egyptian Black Seed oil can be taken in many different ways, depending on the condition and the treatment required. For those who are just beginning to take the oil, the recommended dosage is one teaspoon of oil, three times per day for two to three weeks and thereafter one teaspoon two times daily. The dosage can increased when the patient is ill. Taking the black seed oil continually can be very beneficial, although you should cease use for a few weeks every six weeks or so to ensure that the body does not get used to the supplement. For those taking capsules, two capsules are equal to one teaspoon of oil. The recommended dosage would, therefore, be two capsules, three times per day.
Taking the Black Seed Oil
The oil can be mixed into warm or cold drinks, or taken right from the spoon. It can also be drizzled over meals before consuming. Patients with respiratory problems might also wish to use the oil topically, like a chest rub. Black seed oil is quite a heavy oil and if using as a topical rub, it may be better mixed with virgin olive oil or aloe vera gel to help it penetrate into the skin. It can also be mixed with your regular moisturiser. As a mood enhancer and to treat headaches, the black seed oil can be rubbed onto a handkerchief or piece of muslin cloth. Rub the oil into the cloth, then hold it up to your nose to inhale the vapours.
Side Effects of Black Seed Oil
There are no known side effects of black seed oil if taken moderately. However, this product is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using the product while breastfeeding.
